Train your eye on the sky.

From Gulf Coast hurricanes to the West Texas wind, weather impacts our daily lives. Learn how to use GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) protocols to characterize and catalog weather patterns and formations where you live.

Established in 1994, GLOBE provides international standards for collecting and sharing scientific data. GLOBE classroom strategies encourage students to take part in authentic scientific research by demonstrating and reinforcing proper data collection and analysis techniques.

GLOBE weather protocols examine different climate and weather types by observing atmospheric phenomena and recognizing patterns in cloud cover, precipitation and contrail cover. Students are encouraged to share their local findings with the international GLOBE community to inform research and add to the understanding of our planet.
