Discover inquiry-based chemistry investigations with FOSS.

Understanding interactions in the natural world has captivated chemists for centuries. Focused on inquiry-based learning, the Full Option Science System (FOSS) brings that same excitement of discovery to the chemistry classroom.

Designed at the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California at Berkeley, FOSS provides teachers with research-based teaching strategies that integrate science, mathematics, reading and writing. Formative and summative assessment tools are built in to the activities, and teacher guides, activity instructions and interactive technology are included with each lesson.

The FOSS Chemical Interactions kit contains engaging activities that fully support the teacher and reinforce student-centered instruction. A diverse mix of empirical experiences and theoretical models helps students construct a solid understanding of the elemental nature of the natural world.

Teacher Review

"The value of what we have learned, and of the prospects of what we still have to learn, are invaluable — incalculable. I speak for everyone in this school district in saying that we are so very grateful for your help that we hardly know how to express our gratitude."

Lamesa ISD
