Fetch! Day

Science Spectrum, Lubbock

Join Ruff Ruffman from the popular PBS kids show Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman for a day of hands-on science challenges for elementary students sponsored in partnership by the Science Spectrum and KTXT-TV. Students will compete in teams for prizes and bragging rights in science, math, engineering and social studies events. Activities are included with regular student admission.

Workshop: Disaster Relief

Texas Tech University T-STEM Center, Lubbock

Uncover the source of a deadly disease running rampant in the wake of a tsunami in Southeast Asia. Learn how to trace and diagnose the outbreak using microscopy, water chemistry, Gram staining and antibiotic resistance tests and solve this lesson in the differences between bacteria and viruses.
